Happy school!!

YAY for school! I'm so excited to be back. The first day of school is always super fun. And considering that I was bored out of my mind for the majority of this summer, it's really exciting to actually have stuff to do. (Be advised, my entire opinon on this topic is bound to change dramatically in the next few weeks.)

Started off the day with study, my schedule got switched a bit. Study first thing on the first day of school. BO-RING. Luckily we didn't have to stay long, we had to get our pictures taken and then there was a Junior meeting.

Next had AP History. Thats gonna be a great class. There's only like 15 people. Me encanta.

Followed up with Physics. As far as science goes, it seems alright.

Finally, Algebra 2. Ehh. What can I say. It's kinda gonna suck.

So that was my first day back! It probably doesn't seem like it, but it was much much fun.

Just keep going straight!

Got back from Maine/NH yesterday afternoon. We had such a good time...highlights include:

An almost disastrous 4 1/2 hour sailing trip

Lots of S'mores

Stalking and naming other campground visitors (i.e. Velour Pants, The Hott One, Sketchballs 1 and 2...)

The Challenger, our inflatable kayak

Shopping in North Conway

Fudge

Calling random 1-800 numbers

And more

School starts in 2 days! It doesn't feel like it's that soon at all. I have almost no books and absolutely no supplies. Eek!

And I have insane amounts of cleaning/laundry to do, which I should attend to now.

Everybody snap!

How cool is this? One more day of babysitting, (Monday) and I am done for the summer.

The way my summer has been playing out has been so strange. The hours of each day pass by so very slowly, but each week seems to be one big blur. Tomorrow is already Friday (Field Hockey tryouts. Lord help me.) I just wonder how it's gonna be once school starts up again. I'm looking forward to it a lot, to see everyone again and such.

So Kendall got her license!! That's just so great. I'm uber proud. And excited, cause this means she can drive me places now. Just kidding! :)

Maine in 5 days!

Oh, I just have to mention how much I adore my icon. Thom = <3

You crazy lunatic...

Blah. So much for a semi-vacation week. I spent most of the latter half in bed with chicken soup and a delightful summer cold.

The non-sick portion of the week was good though. I went to the water slides at Yawgoo with my cousins on Monday, and on Wednesday Jackie came over and we went to the fair...we spent much of the time stalking a bunch of soldiers and eating good food. :)

All my stuff from Varsitybooks came in...there's a ton of history stuff, not much else.

AH! I finally figured out a way to make animated icons! I am très excité. It's probably what I'll be doing for the rest of the day now.

I didn't get up until almost noon today! It was awesome!I never sleep in that late. Granted, I felt really lazy, but what the hell.

This week should be pretty exciting. I only have to babysit Tuesday and Friday, so should be spending some time at the beach and the fair...

I've decided that I need a new backpack this year. I think I'm going to get an L.L. Bean one, and instead of putting "Katy" on it, I'm gonna put something totally random, like "Joe" or something. Theres a lot of Katies and Kates and Kaitlins at Bay View. There are no Joes. I think it's a pretty good idea.

Hee hee hee. It's August.

Last night I went to season ticket holder's night at Patriots training camp, which kicked, as usual. Got there a little early, sat in the front row...superb viewing. Only I forgot my goddamn camera. I had a disposable one, but still. I could've gotten some awesome shots If I had a zoom. Not that I really needed it. It's really awesome, sitting that close. You can hear all the players and coaches talking, etc. The entire d-line did some drills directly in front of us. If I had my digital camera, I could have really captured the emotion on Richard Seymour's face. But enough about that.

My cousins came with us, that was mildly annoying. They got bored, and then were depressed when they didn't get any autographs. I told them not to get their hopes up, but they did.

My training camp '04 assesment:

Our new punter (Josh Miller) is amazing. I've never seen anyone punt the ball that far before. Again and again and again and again. However, this idea of a good punter makes me nervous. Ken Walter was the worst punter in the league. Ken Walter was fired midseason last year, only to be rehired. We won two superbowls with Ken Walter....the hell??

The "Stretching" portion of practice is far and away the most entertaining. But I already knew that. Mmmm...tight pants....

Vinatieri nailed at least three 50yd field goals, that I was paying attention to anyway. Yeah, he's good. Yeah, everyone loves him now. Yeah, heres the part where I sulk.

Corey Dillon appears well settled. And he can fucking run. He has difficulty against our defense in the scrimmages however, which I think really says something for...

Our defense. Truly, as good as ever. The essence of the New England Patriots. Nothing more to say.

Our offense. Looks very well rounded, although the o-line needs just a tad bit of work, I think. The addition of some wide receivers who are actually over 5'8" pleases me.

OK, done. :)

I saw the best minds of my generation...

I reached a chapter in The Fifties today that I actually found enjoyable...I don't remember which one...twenty something, maybe? It's all about The Beats, and The Beat Generation...Kerouac, Ginsberg, etc. It was a little oasis in the desert that is The Fifties, and surprisingly so. Many who know me are quite familiar with the fact that I am not fond of emo. But that's essentially what these guys are...Jack Kerouac is as emo as it gets. But for whatever reason, it appeals to me. I don't know why, but I liked it.

The only other chapters in the book that held my interest so far were the chapters on McDonald's (ha) and Levittown.

Fuck y'all, I'm going bladin'

I haven't updated in quite some time! Talk about a hectic week. Nicole came! And went. We had some great times. Jackie's birthday party (16!) was last Friday...or Saturday. No, it was Friday. And it was awesome. She had a moonbounce. Like that wasn't the greatest idea ever. Jackie, Morgan, Nicole, and I went out on Jackie's grandparent's boat on Saturday to see the Tall Ships. The week was definitely action-packed with your typical summer activities: Mall, beach, sleepovers, VH1 marathons, etc. We tried to fit in everything we wanted to do while Nicole was here, and I think we succeeded.

I just found out Aerosmith rescheduled their Atlantic City concert for August 8th. Who's in the mood for a road trip?! I know somebody must be! I suppose hitchiking to New Jersey could be quite an adventure...

My Tour de France obsession has reached new heights. Deprived of a TV with OLN on it's basic cable network this morning, I sat at my computer reading live updates for about 2 hours. Pathetic. But seriously, what if I missed something? And what the hell am I going to do tomorrow!?

August is almost here. July went by pretty fast, but I'm not at all upset about that. To tell the truth, I would rather be in school than babysitting every day. Not to complain, but I think that tells you something about the rigors of my job.

Besides, the sooner summer's over, the sooner fall's over, and the sooner ski season arrives. So there.

I just made myself a pina colada, so heres to the last day of my vacation. I start babysitting again tomorrow. However, nothing can get me down this week because Nicole is arriving in just 3 short days!!

Yesterday was my parents' anniversary, and my entire family went out to dinner, because we do that sporadically. Our waiter was super nice. I got lobster, and I didn't wanna break it apart and stuff, so he did it for me. And we also got free cake, 'cause of the whole anniversary thing. Basically the highlight of my weekend right there...

It feels like I've been super busy that past few days, but really, I haven't done a whole lot. Well, except for yesterday. I went with Jackie and her mom and her sisters to Boston for the day, and that was fun. We went to the JFK library and then we had some awesome Chinese food. We were going to go shopping, but it started to rain and only Jackie and I wanted to walk around in the rain. :)

The day before I went to the mall with Maeg...we had a good time. She bought me a trucker hat that she says would describe my life perfectly if I was given the chance...when I figure out how to post a picture in here I'll share.

She's having me watch "Love Actually" which she proclaims is wonderful, and I believe her; she's usually right about those kind of things. And her Mom's even coming all the way to my house to pick me up!! I'm super excited.

Not much really happened over the 4th of July weekend. Had two succesive parties Sat. and Sunday which were a pretty good time. Saw fireworks at Old Mountain Field. They were good, but a little shorter than usual, I think.

Went to Quidnesset with Jacko today, saw the Murray's and other assorted friends, did planning for her 16th birthday...I need to get her an awesome present, but she won't tell me what to get her. Oh well. I'll have to think about it. We went back to her house after everybody left when a little rainshower passed through. Wimps. Jackie and I murdered her sister Christina and Christina's friend in "Cranium". I've never played before, but it rocks. I downloaded iTunes today...figured it's about time. Maeg has it, she told me I should get it a while ago...it seems ok enough to me! Anybody else have an opinion??
I've got a cookout thing to go to tomorrow, and then the traditional one at my house on the 4th.
What's in a name?

Just back in from the beach a little while ago! I slept over my Aunt's beach house in Narragansett last night, and we had a fun time watching movies and eating Cap'n Crunch (for lack of popcorn). We went to Scarborough today, and get this, I didn't burn! Excellent. I did get lots of sand in my ring though. Mom says to soak it in ammonia, but that will make it smell. Oh well, I'll spray something on it. Had to change my icon/layout, because I enjoy freedom from monotony. According to my name analysis from the Kabalarians, anyway. But really! It kind of scares me how true it is...

Analysis:
"Your first name of Katy has made you a friendly, approachable, and generous person. Generally you are good natured, though at times you can be blunt and sarcastic. As you are naturally talkative, you find it easy to meet and make friends with many people. This name inclines you to be sympathetic and generous to those in difficult or unfortunate circumstances. You can be firm, positive, and independent in your own ideas and in reaching your own decisions, yet when it comes to taking action or following things through to completion, you often need encouragement. You respond quickly to kind words or any appreciation shown to you. There are artistic, creative abilities in this name that you could express through music or singing, or, in a practical way, through sewing or interior decorating. You enjoy freedom from monotony and are stimulated by unexpected opportunities for meeting people, entertaining, or pursuing activities of a carefree nature. In your work, you find it difficult to be neat and orderly. You rarely plan things ahead of time, or follow a routine. Emotion and feeling, the desire to be carefree, friendly, and happy, are the driving forces in your being, rather than shrewdness, ambition, and material success.

Dead on, if I do say so myself. Especially the part about making decisions...I suck at that. :)

Ah, today was just about the first day since school got out that I didn't have to get up and babysit. Excellent feeling. Didn't really do anything. Actually, I didn't do anything at all, and it felt good. I'm still reeling from the concert. :))) I cleaned my room a little, washed some dishes, read...that was basically it. I may be going shopping tomorrow, and more than likely will be beachin' it Wednesday, so things should liven up a bit. Ok, I have to go educate Denise on the finer points of British slang.
Dream on

I feel like I haven't updated in years. I've been babysitting every day...not so cool. Went on a limo adventure last week with Jackie, Kevin, and others...pretty cool. SAW AEROSMITH AT THE TWEETER CENTER LAST NIGHT...AMAZING. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I am not over exaggerating when I say that i think I had the best time of my life last night. It was that good. I'm trying to explain to everyone how good it was but I just can't because I lose the power to form complete sentences and become incoherent. So right now I'm not gonna even attempt to put into words how great it was. As it's the only thing on my mind right now, this update is done.

Except for this. In the words of Nicole...

Dorkus Mkorkus: i want to be a groupie sooo bad and have the sex with all the rockstars

Remo, tremo, sento

Well, school's out. Dolan's exam on Wednesday was not bad at all. Well, it was long (195 multiple choice. AHH.)But it was basically common sense. You'd think thats all Christian Ethics would be...but you'd be wrong! It's evil!
Jackie and Morgan and I had a little get together after. It was hot, and we ran in the sprinkler at Morgan's house! Weee! Er..I feel like something happened on Friday that I'm forgetting...maybe I'll think of it. I'm listening to Josh Groban again. I can't get enough. I really want to see him July 27th at the Tweeter Center. Big possibility there. SPEAKING OF THE TWEETER CENTER...Kendall and I are seeing AEROSMITH in ELEVEN DAYS!!!! I'm so unbelievably excited. I got some new tabs, and I got "Dream On" just for kicks, and now I'm all hyped up! It should be a blast. I just have to figure out what I'm doing the next day now, 'cause I'm supposed to babysit. The concerts on a Thursday. (odd?) I'm gonna try and make my Mom do it, so Kendall and I can stay in Boston for the night or something, I don't remember what our plans were exactly!
Anyway, I spent the rest of this weekend at my Aunt's beach house, but not hanging out at the beach, mind you! They just bought it, and it's a real fixer-upper, so basically, I fixed it for two days. I primed walls and primed and painted doors and got a little too much sun on my shoulders. Too much sun makes my skin icky and itchy. I sound like some kind of basement-dwelling recluse, but it's true. I'm too pale to be out without sunscreen, I guess. It was pretty fun though, a bunch of my family was there so we were all chatting and we had a pretty good time.
I start working tomorrow...not so cool. Call my cell phone and distract me from watching the children, please!!

Saturday in the park...

Hmm. Haven't updated in a few days. I should probably share the awesome yet at the same time bad news that the school year 2003-2004 is OVER. Happy/sad/good/bad. Thursday was the last day of classes, not that we actually did anything. It was class day, basically a farewell to the seniors, and it was sad. Très émotif. But summers gonna be a blast, so no use crying about the past! WHOA talk about mad rhyme skills. A bunch of people went to see the new Harry Potter movie, but not yours truly. I kind of bluntly refused everyone that extended an invitation, actually. Add this one to the constantly growing list of movies I refuse to see. I really just don't get it...don't you people think it ruins the book? How you personally see everyone and everything? I do. Oh well. I bet it was good though. Not much else has happened recently. Well, Nicole booked her flight. She's coming in on July 14th now. Excellent. Aaaannd there was something else, but I forget. Oh yeah. I have much new found respect for Josh Groban. Nothing more!

Summer...is...soo...close...

Wowzers, what a weekend. Hehehe alliteration! Friday was field day and that was a blast. First there was the talent show, and everyone did a good job, especially Meg and Jessica. They were awesome! They sang "It's Raining Men". THey're amazing. Rose and Kendall and I spent the majority of the day dancing in the gym and singing random Beatles songs (ex: Why Don't We Do It In The Road....???) to the dismay of teachers and fellow classmates. Then it started to pour so we ran around outside, and sang again, this time actually in the road! And then after being thoroughly soaked we returned and jumped on the moon bounce in the gym. FUN STUFF. OH and i won a tricycle race. haha! i got a movie pass! score. Oh...one not good part of the day: we got our schedules for next year...I'm supposed to be in Theatre 2 but they put me in Directing and Lighting instead so we'll have to try and fix that.
Friday night Jackie and I went to Alex Fielding's house for his 16th birthday. Once again, immense fun. We had 7 people jumping on a trampoline for probabbly over an hour, and somehow eventually ended up playing duck duck goose. On the trampoline. Which was wet from the rain. In the dark. I'm surprised nobody had to go to the emergency room.
YESTERDAY we went to my cousin's house for his birthday/memorial day cookout. He got a new puppy for his birthday! It's a beagle and it's name is Trot, like Trot Nixon, cause his tale was broken and the tip looks like the number 7! He's adorable. So yea, had a good time with the fam, etc.
Hmmm, today. Just the fact that I got to sleep in on a Monday is pretty cool, I think. Our last day of school is Thursday, and exams start Friday. That makes me excited, cause i have no exam Friday, so I'm only going to go to school three days this week! Excellent. And that means summer is less than two weeks away. Wow. Which also means Kendall and I are seeing Aerosmith in a little over two weeks. Ahhhh!!
And, lastly, NICOLE IS COMING TO VISIT JUNE 15th!!!!!!! Yay yay yay yay!!!

Got our rings on Tuesday!! They are so pretty! Mine is yellow gold with a sapphire stone...and it makes feel special. So not a lot happened today. Except for a really funny episode with my Mom in the car...we drive by agway and theres a sign that says "Weed Killer Sale" and my Mom goes, Whoa...theres a killer sale on weed over there...and it was so random and funny and not something my MOm would say. I laughed. A lot. All right I have to finish my math project...I convinced mrs. t to let us have an ice cream party next class...scooore.
